September Instant Pot Meal Plan (2020)

Hello September! The weather is crazy around here, and between the heat and the hurricanes, we’re all trying to find easy meals that are delicious and our family will eat! I’ve included just that in this month’s meal plan. A lot of comfort food, and some soups for those of us that are wishing for fall weather. All the recipes are easy as usual, and I included a nice variety for all tastes. Here’s what you can expect:

Comforting Instant Pot Recipes

Fall means comforting meals, and while we’re not quite into fall just yet, I’ve taken it upon myself to prepare for Fall by including some Instant Pot Fall Recipes in this meal plan. These recipes are also perfect for rainy days and are sure to soothe the gloomy weather right out of you.

You’ll find plenty of comforting soup recipes and pasta dishes to help you keep warm as the cooler weather begins to creep in near the end of the month. Speaking of comforting fall recipes, you’ll absolutely love my Chicken and Dumplings recipe.

Chicken and Dumplings

I lead off the month with the quintessential comfort dish, my Chicken and Dumplings recipe. I loaded this recipe with sweet and delicious veggies, tender bite-sized pieces of savory chicken, and yummy dumplings. This is a super easy comfort recipe to make in your pressure cooker.

Instant Pot Soups

In addition to my Chicken and Dumplings, I’ve loaded up this meal plan with lots of delicious Instant Pot Soups. This month, you’ll be enjoying warm bowls of Tomato Soup, Chicken Enchilada Soup, and Chili. Each of these soups is so comforting and goes perfectly with either my Homemade Garlic Bread or Skillet Cornbread.

Tomato Soup

This rich and creamy Instant Pot Tomato Soup is the perfect recipe for the cooler fall and winter months. This soup really is delightful and the added touch of basil and honey put the flavor over the top.

Chicken Enchilada Soup

Looking for something Tex-Mex? I loaded up my Instant Pot Chicken Enchilada Soup with flavorful Tex-Mex deliciousness. This soup is simple to make and delivers all that chicken enchilada flavor that you love so much. Top with crispy tortilla strips and your favorite enchilada toppings for outstanding Tex-Mex flavor.

Chili

There is nothing better than a hearty bowl of Instant Pot Chili on a gloomy, rainy day. And with all the hurricanes that we usually experience this time of year, this is the perfect time for a big pot of this comforting dish. This is a simple chili recipe that’s loaded with ground beef, red beans, fire-roasted tomatoes, and a unique blend of spices. You’re going to love this chili!

Instant Pot Pasta

I also included lots of comforting Instant Pot Pasta Recipes like my Spaghetti and Meat Sauce, Lasagna, and Cheesy Sausage Rigatoni. Each of these pasta dishes is simple to make, packed full of flavor, and kid-friendly. And, if you’re looking for a perfect side dish to any of these pasta recipes, then you must try my Oven Roasted Broccoli.

Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

This traditional Italian dish is a perfect way to enjoy a comforting meal on a busy weeknight. My Instant Pot Spaghetti and Meat Sauce is a simple one-pot meal that’ll be ready in minutes. And even better, the entire family always loves it!

Lasagna

If you have some hungry mouths to feed, then there is nothing better to bust that hunger than a slice of warm lasagna. Thankfully, with the help of your pressure cooker, you’ll have this traditional pasta recipe ready in much less time than it’d take in the oven. I loaded my Instant Pot Lasagna with flavorful meat and layers upon layers of creamy cheese.

Cheesy Sausage Rigatoni

This hearty pasta dish is extra cheesy and so quick to make. You’ll not only love the flavor of this Instant Pot Cheesy Sausage Rigatoni, but you’ll also love how easy it is to make. It’s perfect for busy weeknights when you need to get a meal the whole family will love on the table in a jiffy.

Instant Pot Sides

There are definitely some wonderful recipes in this month’s meal plan, and you’ll also find some outstanding Instant Pot side dishes to go with them. I’ve included my Mashed Potatoes, Spanish Rice, and Potato Salad, to name a few.

Mashed Potatoes

These no-fuss Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes are simple to make and come out so smooth and creamy. And the nice thing about this recipe is you can leave the skins on the potatoes if you want to save time or want a more hearty, rustic texture. Either way, they’re absolutely delicious.

Spanish Rice

This quick and easy Instant Pot Spanish Rice is full of the authentic flavor you’d expect from your favorite restaurant-style Spanish Rice. This one is a perfect side dish to serve with any Tex-Mex inspired meal.

Instant Pot Dessert Recipes

I could never forget dessert! And the Instant Pot Dessert Recipes that I’ve included in this month’s meal plan are amazing! Flan, Coconut Cake, and Arroz con Leche are a few of the unbelievably delicious sweet treats that you’ll be enjoying this month.

Flan

This Instant Pot Flan is so creamy smooth that it will blow your mind. Oh, and the caramel on top of the flan is to die for. This is the best of the best when it comes to Instant Pot desserts. This one is a must-try!

Arroz con Leche

Another Hispanic favorite, this Instant Pot Arroz con Leche, or rice pudding, is so creamy sweet. Just add a dash of cinnamon to make it perfect. This wonderful dessert is quick and easy to make and only requires a few simple ingredients.
