  1. Thanks for this cookbook recommendation list. It is solid. May I suggest adding Urvashi’s newish book Fast & Easy to your list? I also want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of fellow bloggers, like Urvashi Pitre, as it shows your generous nature.

  2. When I first got my IP, I bought some of the “first wave” of IP cookbooks, and regretted it. I felt like some of them had been rushed into publication just to be the first out of the gate: poor recipes, typos and misspellings, haphazard editing, etc. I think the books are getting better now. From your list, I own and highly recommend Dinner in an Instant by Melissa Clark, and The Indian Instant Pot Cookbook by Urvashi Pitre. I don’t believe I saw this on your list, but another nice book — especially for newer IP users — is The Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook: 200 Fast & Foolproof Recipes, by Barbara Schieving. I have given several IPs as gifts, and this book gets the recipients off to a great start.

    1. Hi Diane!! Thank you for your helpful comment! I will take a look at Barbara’s book. I do have a couple I have to add. Thanks for stopping by the blog!

  3. I’ve ordered several of the accessories you recommended and now I’m going to order several cookbooks as well. Thank you for clearly stating how to cook a flan perfectly.

    1. Thank you so much, Linda! I appreciate you saying that. I’m so happy you liked the flan recipe. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

  4. I just purchased your cookbook. I do not have an instant pot, I have an electric pressure cooker. Will I use the recipes the same?

    1. Hi Theresa! Most of these cookbooks work perfectly with other electric pressure cookers. They’re all great books, not sure which one you bought, but I did not write them, I just put together the list of the best ones. Hope you get good use out of the book you got!

    1. Hi Sherry! Actually, under the pictures of the books in aqua lettering, I say “I have this one” for the ones that I own. The Indian one is really great, but of course, you have to like Indian food. The Essential one is great for beginners. It has nice instructions in the front, basically a nice reference section. The magazine one I got at the supermarket is also great and in particular, has a lot of recipes for using the whey that is left over from making yogurt. I actually have two more books that I am adding to this post later today. This is one of them http://amzn.to/2GDA1ZY I just got it and it looks beautiful and delicious. Hope this helps!!

  5. I read about a gluten free artisan bread cookbook, written by a man, actually…I’ll have to look it up again. Unfortunately, the Instant Pot I received as a gift for Christmas won’t do some of the steps you’ve mentioned. I got a 6qt LUX, which I’m told won’t make yogurt, or proof bread.

    1. Hi Debbi! I’ve seen some posts on Facebook where they tell you how to make yogurt with the lux. Might want to do a search to see if it’s possible. Thanks for stopping by!
