  • 1 box cornbread mix I prefer Fleischmann's Simply Homemade Cornbread Mix
  • cup buttermilk
  • cup salted butter melted
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeño peppers chopped
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
