for the Meat Filling

  • 2 lbs ground sirloin cooked and drained
  • 1 jar sofrito 12 oz, approx 1 1/4 cup, I prefer Goya Sofrito
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pkg frozen mixed vegetables 16 oz (peas, carrots, corn and green beans), thawed

for the Potato Topping

  • 2 pkgs prepared mashed potatoes 24 oz each, warmed
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 4 oz cream cheese cubed, 1/2 of an 8 oz pkg
  • 1 ½ cups mild cheddar cheese shredded and divided
