These are the creamiest, tastiest grits ever. Perfect served as-is for breakfast or topped with ham, bacon, sour cream, peppers and scallions. Also makes an amazing base for creole shrimp and beef recipes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup water
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup quick grits I prefer Quaker Quick 5-Minute Grits
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cup extra sharp white cheddar shredded
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter 1/4 cup or 4 tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
